We are talking about Maurizio Bottalico: 15 Road Race titles, 3 podiums at the Manx Grand Prix on the Isle of Man and 1st place at the Cain Road Race in Mexico, Superbike class.
Maurizio Bottalico is a name that speaks for itself: all he needs is a helmet and an adrenaline filled road race.
Recently, the champion got on the podium at two major events: in Landshaag, Austria, for the European Championship and in Spoleto for the Italian Championship, in the Superbike and Supersport classes.
In both races, Bottalico wore Emblema motorcycle glasses, Special model.

Bottalico’s challenges during Road Racing
During the specific routes of his discipline, Bottalico faces several challenges, including:
urban areas where visibility is reduced due to several obstacles
track sections where light intensity can dazzle the rider, or shaded areas where it's easy to lose detail sharpness
changing light conditions, such as dusk, since races often take place in the late afternoon and can continue into the evening
the visor and the accessories mounted on top, while essential for rider safety, don’t always guarantee perfect vision due to potential glare caused by the multiple layers
With this in mind, Maurizio was looking for a pair of glasses that could enhance his performance and help him tackle the typical challenges of Road Racing.

How can you balance constantly changing light conditions with the need for protection and safety in extreme conditions?
After several meetings with our opticians, Emblema created a custom made Special model with amber lenses with double anti-reflective coating for Bottalico. These lenses, certified by Zeiss quality, are ideal:
in all lighting conditions, including night riding, and solve the problem of limited time and route variety that makes changing sun filters impossible
in case of using a visor with a slight smoke tint because a clear lens makes the path appear sharper even when darkened by the visor’s color
In addition, thanks to the ultra flat temples and tip, which are key features of all Emblema models, the glasses fit perfectly under the helmet, with no pressure on the temples or ears, even during extended wear.
Special model with amber lenses accompanied Maurizio on the tracks of Landshaag and Spoleto, while for the podium ceremony he opted for a dark lens model, more suitable for static, daytime light conditions. In the photo below, you can see Bottalico with his well-deserved trophy.
